SXSW 2023 Pop Up: HBO Max Coffeehouse

HBO Max is back at SXSW this year and they’ve partnered with Human by Orientation and Pa’lante to bring a multicultural two-day activation to the festival.

Here’s everything you need to know about the HBO Max Coffeehouse

This year will feature various invite-only and public events, there will be appearances by influential storytellers and talent, this activation will celebrate diverse storytelling showcasing the ways HBO Max is inspiring change through the power of stories and connecting fans with beloved characters. 

A little about the partners. Human by Orientation is HBO Max’s platform for the LGBTQIA+ community. Their year-round program works to amplify and celebrate queer voices. While HBO Max Pa’lante works to elevate Latinx stories and voices. Together they’ve come up with an activation that celebrates both LGBTQIA+ and Latinx voices and storytellers.

Lavazza, is the exclusive coffee partner of the event will be proudly serving HBO Max inspired drinks throughout the weekend!

The pop up will be at The Stay Put located at 73 Rainey Street. Some things are invite only but the coffeehouse will be open to the public as well. On March 11 from 10 am to 7 pm and March 12 from 1 pm to 4 pm. All events are 21+. Find out more here.

HBO Documentary Filmmaker Roundtable
Saturday, March 11 | 12pm-1pm | Open to the Public
Join some of today’s most inspirational creators of color in conversation, as they discuss their upcoming HBO Documentary Films and their craft.
Featuring: James Adolphus, Cecilia Aldarondo, Debra Martin Chase, Brooklyn Sudano, Lena Waithe, and Roger Ross Williams. Moderated by: Mike Jackson of Get Lifted Film Co. 

“The Last Of Us” Fireside Chat with Gabriel Luna and Variety’s Selome Hailu

“The White Lotus” Brunch and Fireside Chat with Evan Ross Katz and Variety’s Adam Vary
