It’s movie review time! Netflix’s La Dolce Villa will make you fall in love with Italy, and that’s not all.

First off, can we talk about how well Scott Foley is aging? Someone on Instagram told me it’s due to Brotox, but even if the 52-year-old does get Botox, it’s more than that. It’s his overall look and style. Age looks good on him! If I’m being honest, I didn’t really like him when we were younger. He started growing on me when he was on Scandal but I was still up in the air about him. Now, it’s official, I dig him.

La Dolce Villa Movie Review

OK, let’s get into this movie. It’s cheesy and predictable, but it’s cute! I always say that Netflix movies like this are comparable to Hallmark movies. Except for one major this: they have a bigger budget. IMO, that makes all the difference.

What also makes a difference with this flick is that it takes place in Italy. It’s a bit like a cheesier (read not as well written) version of Under the Tuscan Sun. Like that movie, it totally makes me want to move to Italy. But, I mean, who doesn’t want to move to Italy – especially now?!

I saw someone online say it’s not Oscar worthy, but it’s light and cheerful. That’s exactly what it is. This is an easy watch when you wanna just escape the day. 

Scott Foley‘s daughter is played by Maia Reffico who is a joy. She hasn’t done a whole lot yet though she was in one of those Pretty Little Liars spin-off shows. I expect we’ll see her more in the future though.
