Daisy Jones gossip

If you haven’t heard of Daisy Jones and The Six at this point, you probably live under a rock. From the advertisements to all the chatter online and IRL, Daisy seems to be everywhere. Not that we’re complaining!

The series is based on a novel by the same name written by Taylor Jenkins Reid. While the series is gaining traction from fans of the book, it’s also gaining popularity due to the chemistry of the two lead actors and the hip catchy tunes featured on the series. In fact, the music has become so popular that the fake band has even released more fake music!

Here’s the tea on what we’re watching: Daisy Jones and The Six

Synopsis: Based on the New York Times best-selling novel, Daisy Jones & the Six follows the story of a 1970s band fronted by two feuding yet charismatic lead singers, Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne. Set to the soundtrack of original music, this is the story of how this iconic band imploded at the height of its powers.

Cast: Riley Keough, Sam Claflin, Camila Morrone, Suki Waterhouse, Will Harrison, Josh Whitehouse, Timothy Olyphant

Filming Locations: New Orleans

Release date: All episodes are steaming now on Amazon Prime

Where to watch: Amazon Prime

Fun Facts: Reese Witherspoon and her company Hello Sunshine produced the series, alongside Amazon Studios.

The song vocals were performed by the lead actors: Riley Keough and Sam Claflin. And they had even more star power behind the music. The songs were composed, performed, and produced by Blake Mills, with additional production by Tony Berg and in collaboration with musicians such as Chris Weisman, Jackson Browne, Marcus Mumford, and Phoebe Bridgers.

Also, in case you aren’t aware, Keough is the daughter of the late Lisa Marie Presley, which means that she’s Elvis Presley’s granddaughter!

Texas Tie-In: Daisy Jones and The Six took over SXSW 2023 with multiple appearances and themed events! Most of the main cast was in town at various times promoting the series, in addition to other projects. Amazon’s Prime, Texas pop up included a section of their installation dedicated to the series. Earlier in March, cast member Suki Waterhouse played a free show along with a special screening of the first episode here in Austin. Read more about that here.

The Trailer:

Due to it being a book-to-series adaption, no one is sure if there will be a season two. Based on the popularity, we wouldn’t be surprised if they pen a sequel. And it sounds like the cast might even go on tour! So stay tuned for any updates.
