The Austin Film Society celebrated the 30th anniversary of Dazed and Confused with a star studded reunion in Austin! That reunion included Wiley Wiggins who starred as Mitch Kramer in the 1993 classic. Prior to the screening and Q&A, we spoke with Wiggins on the red carpet.
Here’s how Wiley Wiggins answered our Texas This or That interview questions!
First up, when it comes to tacos or barbecue, the Austin native had to give a shout out to Micklethwait Craft Meats. “Best barbecue in town and you don’t have to wait four hours to get it,” he said.
When it comes to Tito’s or Shiner, he told us that Shiner makes him gassy but he’s a Czech Texan so he has to stan it.
Other questions include: Friday Night Lights TV show or movie, Chainsaw Massacre or Best Little Whorehouse, Beyonce or Kelly Clarkson and George Strait or Willie Nelson.
But the question that gave him the most pause was this one: Tommy Lee Jones or Matthew McConaughey. After stating that he was “going to get beat up either way,” he ultimately chose Tommy Lee. Don’t tell Matthew.

His last answer was truly the best. When asked which famous Dazed and Confused McConaughey line he likes best, “alright alright alright” or “Just keep livin’,” here’s what he said.
