WAGS F1

In the fast-paced world of Formula 1 racing, the spotlight not only shines on the drivers but also extends to their significant others. The wives and girlfriends, also know as WAGs of F1 drivers, play a crucial role in supporting their partners and often find themselves in the public eye. Let’s take a closer look at the leading ladies who may make waves both on and off the track this
year.

Lily Zneimer (Oscar Piastri’s girlfriend)

Australian Oscar Piastri first went public about his relationship with Lily Zneimer with an Instagram post in 2022. However, while the post featured a picture of the two on the red carpet of the Autosport Awards, Zneimer was not tagged in the post nor mentioned by name. On the Eff Won podcast in 2023, the McLaren driver confirmed that the two began dating during their second-to-last year of boarding school. “We’ve been together ever since,” Piastri said.

Lily Zneimer is a British college student who has studied engineering. She is also a social activist. In 2024, fans can expect to see Zneimer more, especially as she works to possibly make a career in F1.

Kelly Piquet (Max Verstappen’s girlfriend)

Max Verstappen has been in a serious relationship with Kelly Piquet since 2020. One of the most recognizable WAGS of F1, Piquet is known as a model, columnist, blogger, and public relations specialist. Born in Germany to a Dutch mother, Piquet moved to her father’s home country of Brazil, at the age of 12. She later moved to New York City at the age of 17. Piquet’s father and brother are also accomplished Formula 1 drivers. She previously dated driver Daniil Kvyat in 2019 and has a daughter, Penelope from that relationship.

Piquet is expected to be seen in the spotlight both with and without her current boyfriend in 2024, especially since she has been featured on magazine covers in the past, such as Vogue Netherlands in 2023. Currently, she lives in Monaco and usually attends every one of Verstappen’s races.

Francisca Cerqueira Gomes (Pierre Gasly’s girlfriend)

In 2023, two famous players of the Kansas City Chiefs NFL team, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, invested in the new Formula 1 Alpine team. Actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney invested as well. One of the driver’s for that very team is Pierre Gasly, who has been dating Francisca “Kika” Cerqueira Gomes since the beginning of 2022.

Gomes is a Portuguese model. Her father, Gonçalo Gomes, was a driver for the Pure McLaren team. In her career, she has appeared on multiple Portuguese magazine covers, including LuxWOMAN and CRISTINA, and she has collaborated with brands such as Carolina Herrera, H&M, and NIVEA as a social media influencer. Since making an appearance alongside Gasly on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival in 2023 (as seen on the current season of Drive to Survive), fans can expect to see the two together at more public events in the coming year.

Carola Martinez (Sergio Perez’s wife)

Mexican driver Sergio Perez married Carola Martinez in 2018. The couple have three children together. While Martinez prefers to stay out of the limelight on a daily basis, she does have a fan-oriented page on Instagram. On this page, she typically shares photos of her with her husband and children during their travels, many times while on F1 tours.

In the upcoming year, fans can expect to see more pictures of the couple with their children, Sergio Jr, Carlota, and Emilio on social media.

Louise Gjørup (Kevin Magnussen’s wife)

A lot of controversies surrounded the release of Magnussen from Team McLaren in 2015. However, after his departure, he met Louise Gjørup, who would eventually become his wife in August 2019. The couple have two daughters.

Gjørup was born in Denmark and attended high school in the Valby district of Copenhagen. After graduating in 2004, she attended college at Læreruddannelserne Metropol from 2013 to 2017 to study Danish education, biology, and sports. Gjørup uses her Instagram account to post photos of herself and her family or of the family’s dog, a Staffordshire bull terrier.

Carmen Montero Mundt (George Russell’s girlfriend)

Carmen Montero Mundt is no stranger to the grid as she frequently travels to races to support Mercedes driver George Russell. The two Brits have been dating since 2020. As part of a Q&A on Instagram, Mundt confirmed that she met Russell in London through a mutual friend.

She’s much more than one of the WAGS of F1 as she has worked in finance as an investor relations associate and associate consultant. At the end of 2023, she announced on Instagram that she was going to go back to school in the new year. In another announcement made on IG, she informed followers that she recently found out she has epilepsy. “It took some time getting used to the medication and finding ways to manage stress,” she said. Though she explains that trying to juggle work, and personal and professional life was hard, she still managed to get to Miami and a couple more races! We expect we will see her at more in 2024.

Tiffany Cromwell (Girlfriend of Valtteri Bottas)

Valtteri Bottas confirmed his relationship with Tiffany Cromwell in early 2020, mere months after separating from his wife of three years. Since then, the pair have highlighted their adventures on social media, including many biking expeditions, coffee explorations and interesting photo shoots. IYKYK.

An athlete in her own right, Cromwell is an Australian road and gravel cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women’s WorldTeam Canyon–SRAM. You can learn about more of her passions and interests here.

Heidi Berger (girlfriend of Daniel Ricciardo)

Fans sure do love Visa Cash App RB F1 Team driver Daniel Ricciardo, but it’s Heidi Berger who gets to call him hers. Berger is an actor who has held several small roles since making her acting debut in 2016. From 2018 to 2020, she appeare in the drama Onde Está Elisa?

Both she and Ricciardo made the rounds in Austin during the USGP in 2023. We spotted the couple at Antone’s during a party celebrating his Enchanté Records pop-up.

We will likely see more of Berger this year and she supports Ricciardo in what he calls the “second part” of his career.
