Walker: Independence might be about Abby Walker’s journey but we can’t help but be charmed by its two male leads: Matt Barr and Justin Johnson Cortez.
One plays the ancestor of the character he portrayed on Walker while the other plays a member of the Apache tribe. We don’t know for sure how they will get along on the series, but we know they are a perfect pair off screen!
After watching these two interact during our interview, we can’t help but be reminded of a similar pair of actors who also starred in a little CW show called Supernatural. And we’re not alone!
Justin and Matt are giving us all the Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles vibes! From the banter and inside jokes to being each other’s biggest cheerleaders, we can totally see them being the next Jared and Jensen.
You may recall that Padalecki and Ackles played Sam and Dean on Supernatural for 15 seasons before calling it quits. But they still cross paths from time to time at conventions and in Austin, Texas where they both reside. Ackles even directed an episode of Walker!
Matt Barr and Justin Johnson Cortez may just be getting started with the series but fans already adore them together and so do we. We can’t wait for more interviews, press and, of course, bloopers and outtakes!
