The modern Hitchcockian thriller Hypnotic is set to hit screens in the US this summer, according to this Deadline article. Written and directed by Robert Rodriguez, the film stars Ben Affleck and was shot in the Austin area in 2021.
Filming took place at Rodriguez’s Troublemaker Studios, as well as other locations in the Mueller area and at Republic Square in Downtown Austin.
The film struggled to find representation and recently found a US buyer. Boutique financier-distributor Ketchup Entertainment has never released a film of Hypnotic‘s budget or screen commitment but they are committed to release the film this summer across at least 2,000 screens. On Friday, February 16, a first buyers screening of this film will happen in Berlin at the European Film Market event. Hopefully, more info about a premiere date will follow.
