Self Reliance screened its world premiere at SXSW this year. It is the second movie Anna Kendrick and Jake Johnson have premiered at SXSW together over the years, the first being Drinking Buddies in 2013. This time around they reunite for Self Reliance, a comedy that is written, directed and stars New Girl‘s Jake Johnson.

Here’s the tea on Self Reliance

Synopsis: When a man is offered a million dollars to play a game in which hunters try to kill him, he thinks he has found the perfect loophole: they can only attack when he’s alone. His only problem is that none of his friends or family believe the game is real.

Cast: Jake Johnson, Anna Kendrick, Andy Samberg, Christopher Lloyd, Mary Holland, Natalie Morales, Emily Hampshire.

The movie is produced by The Lonely Island, Andy Samberg’s company but the comedian also makes an appearance in the film, as himself! There is no official release or streaming date yet but stay tuned and we’ll spill the tea on any updates!
