It’s hard to believe that In Living Color aired 30 years ago today. Known as the comedy sketch show where many actors/ comedians got their start In Living Color launched the careers of Jamie Foxx, Jim (James) Carry, Tommy Davidson and Rosie Perez, just to name a few. And, of course, we can’t forget the most famously known star to breakout of the series: Jennifer Lopez.

Even though it’s been 30 years, almost all of the jokes hold up ( though we’ll admit that if you’re younger than 30 you might not get most of the references). To prove how timeless In Living Color really is we’ve put together some of our favorite clips from the five seasons it was on the air.

Let’s start off by going back exactly 30 years to day one with the pilot episode.

Now, Here Are Our Favorite In Living Color Moments!

Who doesn’t remember the one-hit-wonder Vanilla Ice? Watch Jim Carry (then known as James Carry) do a parody of “Ice, Ice, Baby.”

In Living Color had countless guest stars but Tupac keeping a straight face during his sketch has to be one of the best moments.

Here’s Jennifer Lopez’s formal introduction as a Fly Girl. Let’s all collectively thank In Living Color for bringing JLO into our lives, shall we?

Jamie Foxx is another big name actor that got his start on the comedy series. Here he is as Ugly Wanda.

This one might take the cake as one of our favorite clips from the series. It’s a parody of the celebrity packed U.S.A. For Africa Aid “We are the World” video. We love the original but we enjoy the parody all the same.

In Living Color gave many people their start in the industry and it was truly progressive show. It’s still often referenced in pop culture today. One of the latest references was Bruno Mars and Cardi B’s music video for Finesse. The entire video is an ode to the classic comedy series.
