I don’t know how exactly I can tell you what I thought about Avengers: Endgame without telling you anything about Avengers: Endgame. However, I will tell you this: I loved it.
Is it a satisfying end to an amazing saga? Yes.
Did I shed a few tears? Yes.
Did I drool over Thor/ aka Chris Hemsworth? No.
That last one leaves you with questions, doesn’t it?
Here’s what I have no question about. This script is solid.
I was highly concerned with how confusing this storyline would be, on multiple levels. Will it make sense scientifically? Would a novice be able to follow the story? Will the outcome be realistic? Yes, yes and yes. Well, as realistic as the Marvel universe can be.
Here’s something else I can tell you. Though the movie clocks in at three hours and one minute, it doesn’t feel even one minute too long. That I attribute to a superb script. I’ve left many a movie saying there were too many fight scenes or the action dragged on way too long, but that is not the case with this film. In fact, we don’t get a fight scene until quite a ways into the flick.
And on that note, I should probably stop. This is a #spoilerfree zone, after all.
