If you’re looking for a fun feel good movie to kick off the weekend, check out Amazon Studios’ I Want You Back.

You should recognize some of the film’s stars. Charlie Day is best known for It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Jenny Slate got her start on Saturday Night Live. 

Gina Rodriguez starred in five seasons of the critically acclaimed Jane the Virgin, a role that won her a Golden Globe. And Scott Eastwood is perhaps most recognizable from The Longest Road. He’s also the son of legendary Clint Eastwood and just happens to live right here in Austin. 

Eastwood recently spoke to Ellen about his favorite Central Texas activity.

Day and Slate play two strangers who meet after they’ve been unexpectedly dumped by their significant others. They hatch a plan to do whatever it takes to put an end to their exes’ new relationships and send them running back to their arms.

Though it’s obvious how the film is going to end, it’s an interesting take on the romcom genre. There are plenty of comedic moments to keep both men and women entertained but nothing too over the top or unbelievable. I appreciate the realness of the storyline. Admittedly, my friends and I might even be guilty of a few of the tactics the couple utilize while following out their plan.
