On the red carpet at Fantastic Fest, Natasha Lyonne chatted with Spill the ATX about Austin, aging and more! She attended in support of her new flick Pathetic Fallacy, one of the more unusual films to come out of the film festival that’s known for embracing the strange.

We started that chat asking the Gen X-er what she most enjoys about this phase of life and she didn’t shy away from the craziness of this era.
“I used to think it was just me that was nuts,” the Poker Face star said. “As the years go by you realize, oh no, it’s everybody else too!”
She went on to say it turns out it’s every single person. “Isn’t everybody here nuts?” she asked. A
nd if you happen to think you’re the only one struggling, keep this in mind. According to Lyonne, “You’re not alone friends.”
Natasha Lyonne Is No Stranger To Austin
Lyonne has a long-standing connection to the city’s music and film culture. She has previously spoken about her admiration for Austin psychedelic-rock legend Roky Erickson and this time was no different.
Erickson was the frontman of the legendary 13th Floor Elevators, the pioneering Austin group widely associated with the development of psychedelic rock.
When asked about memorable Austin experiences, Lyonne said one of her favorite memories is spending time in the ATX in the 90s, trying to adapted the Rocky Erickson story in the 90s.
Russian Doll even incorporated music from the 13th Floor Elevators into its musical world, as does this new flick (which co-stars hip hop artist Kid Cudi).
When the conversation turned specifically to what she likes about Austin, Lyonne kept it simple:
“It’s got everything,” Lyonne said.
We can’t argue with that.
