Prepare for ACL

If you’ve been to Austin City Limits Music Festival then you are well aware that it is a beast. And if you haven’t been before, please note, this festival will wear you out! From the heat to the massive amounts of walking to the struggle to balance your alcohol intake with copious amounts of water, this festival will surely take a toll on you. With that in mind, we’re sharing five ACL tips to help you prep for the festival – or any festival for that matter.

Prepare For ACL Music Festival With These 5 ACL Tips

Stay Hydrated

Let’s start with the most obvious, hydrate! There’s really nothing more important than staying hydrated when you’re walking 10,000 to 20,000 steps daily in 90+ degree weather. Hydrating should start days before the fest. Then, once the festival begins, be sure to carry some kind of electrolyte packs with you. There are so many to choose from: Liquid IV, Propel, NUUN, LMNT, among others. We even picked up some free Liquid Death packets at the festival.

Get an IV Drip

IV vitamin therapy is a quick and effective way to get hydrated and pump your body full of nutrients quickly. It boosts energy, enhances immune function and supports recovery from illness and stress. It’s one of my favorite ways to prep and heal my body. To get ready for the festival, I hit up IVitamin on South Congress. They offer a variety of drip services but I chose the Myer’s Cocktail that includes B12, B Complex, Vitamin C, Magnesium, B5 and B6. You can check out all of their offerings here.

Prep Your Body

A drip is only one way to prep your body. I also like to get my muscles and cells ready for what can feel like an intense workout. Cryo Therapy is one of my favorite ways to do that. The benefits include: reducing inflammation, pain relief, boosted metabolism and increased energy. If you’re looking for a place to try Cryo, check out Evolve Cryo + Wellness on South Lamar. When I have time, I also like to do compression therapy. It’s a game changer on my hips and legs.

Eat Healthy

Food is expensive at the festival, along with everything else. And you might not be making the healthiest of choices while at the park. So, it’s important to make sure you’re eating healthy before and after the fest. Our go to for that is Snap Kitchen. Not only do they provide tasty meals with quality ingredients, but they are quick and easy to prepare and THEY DELIVER! We even order the new Snapable kid meals because they make for the perfect snack on the go. Check out all of their food options here. Get $25 off your first order by using code 6NM19KNP at checkout.

Get Your Hair Did

Festivals are the perfect opportunity to showcase your style. You know you’ll be taking a ton of pictures and posting on Instagram so you must look your best! This year, we chose to visit Atomic April at the Marquise Suites in Oak Hill on Friday before heading down to the fest. The hair tinsel extensions were a big hit and stayed in for the entire weekend.
