The Cyber Rodeo took place at Tesla’s Giga Texas last week. There was a lot happening and we’re not sure what exactly went down as we were not on site. But here are some things we do know. The event was invite only but there were approximately 15,000 people in attendance. Elon Musk was obviously there and was seen on stage wearing a “Don’t Mess With Texas” belt buckle along with a cowboy hat. Local Grammy award winner Gary Clark Jr. put on an incredible performance at sunset. Harrison Ford was seen at the event shaking hands with Musk. Harrison is a Tesla owner and is often spotted driving around Los Angeles in his Model S.
MotoGP Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas returned to Circuit of the Americas on April 10. The Grand Prix motorcycle race is the premier class of motorcycle road racing event held on road circuits. Chicago Fire star Taylor Kinney is no stranger to attending races in Austin, so it’s no surprise that he was seen at the event. He was even spotted making a pitstop at Voodoo Donuts on 6th Street while he was in town.
In other sports news, the Masters Tournament ended Sunday in Georgia. Dallas native and UT alumni Scottie Scheffler took home the green jacket! Scheffler has become the first player other than Tiger Woods to win four events in a season including a major and a World Golf Championship event. Woods did it eight times, between 1999 and 2008. We can’t wait to see what Scheffler does next! Check out this video of him right after winning the Dell Matchplay Tournament in March.

Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube played a show at the newly opened Round Rock Amphitheater on April 8. Snoop Dogg released VIP packages for fans who wanted the ultimate experience. The package included a two-song live performance by the rapper himself along with a live DJ before the show followed by an hour DJ set by Snoop after the concert.
Andy Roddick and Brooklyn Decker returned to the ATX together for the annual Andy Roddick Foundation gala. Roddick comes to Austin often for his foundation related work, however, Decker can most often be found at their North Carolina home. When asked what they miss about the city when not here, they both mentioned the food, the energy and the diversity of the city. Leon Bridges played an intimate set at the event which raised almost $1M for the foundation to continue working with our community to expand opportunities for young people to learn, thrive and succeed.
We first talked Texan with Brooklyn Decker at the Texas Film Awards in 2016. Check out that interview here.
Other notable events we attended included the Tito’s 25th anniversary party at Arlyn Studios and The Lion King at Bass Concert Hall. The show is running through April 24 and it is phenomenal.
And finally, though it didn’t happen in Austin, the CMT Awards took place on Monday, April 11 and there were plenty of notable Texans on hand. Many took home awards that night. Miranda Lambert won Female Video for “If I Was a Cowboy.” Cody Johnson won Male Video for “‘Til You Can’t” (he was also awarded Digital First performance). Former Austinite Parker McCollum won Breakthrough Video for “To Be Loved By You.” And CMT performance went to the king George Strait for “Is Anybody Goin’ to San Antone.” Other performers and attendees included Black Pumas, Maren Morris, Mickey Guyton, Kacey Musgraves, Midland and Dennis Quaid.
