The Roseanne Barr lead show Meemaw has wrapped production in Central Texas. The limited series reportedly began shooting in December 2025.

Here’s everything we know about the Roseanne Barr series Meemaw!

In addition to Barr, IMDB lists the other regular cast members as: Omar Gooding (brother of Cuba Gooding, Jr,), Daniella M. Reyes, Patty Ross and Jaxson A. Compas. Jon Lovitz is listed as appearing in one episode and we’ve heard rumors that Randy Quaid is taking part as well. Oh, and that’s not all. Apparently, Ken Paxton makes an appearance too. We also spotted Drea de Matteo in some pictures online, including the one below.

As for filming locations, we aren’t sure of many specifics, but the Legacy Casting calls list Spicewood and Granger. Old Taylor High School posted the following picture on Instagram.

According to a Reddit string, they shot at Scholz Garden where a bunch of actors in orthodox Jewish attire were spotted standing around out front. Casting calls posted in January of 2026 called for a prayer circle woman, hackers from China, trans women and an FBI IT agent.

What is Meemaw is about?

Barr wrote the series with TV producer Allan Stephan, best known for his work on HBO’s Arli$ and Roseanne. According to a Variety article, the show is said to be a “cross between The Roseanne Show and The Sopranos.”

The Emmy winner, who now calls Central Texas home, revealed that the series will center on a “small-town farmer in Alabama who is saving the United States from drug gangs and China.” The protagonist will also apparently dabble in “growing and selling drugs like cannabis and magic mushrooms.”

“[It will contain] very offensive ideas and a lot of swearing. I live with my daughter and her husband and their six children on a farm. And they have goats running through their house and stuff,” Barr explained.

The comedian says it is loosely based on her former life as a “farmer” in Hawaii.

It appears there are just six episodes and we hear it will stream on a new streaming platform.

Roseanne Barr Lives In Texas.

As mentioned, Barr, 72, currently lives in Central Texas on 30 acres in the Hill Country. She enjoys her time as a grandmother, drives a tractor and uses a chainsaw to trim trees, according to her son Jake Pentland – who discussed his famous mom in an interview with Us Weekly

For fans of the Austin comedy scene, this probably isn’t a surprise as she’s taken part in numerous sets at Joe Rogan’s Comedy Mothership, including Kill Tony podcast recordings.
