If you’re visiting Austin, looking to impress a date or simply treat yourself to one of the city’s best dining experiences, this Michelin-recommended restaurant is the place to go. The ambiance is upscale yet comfortable. The service is superb. And the menu is quite varied, which I dig.

Garrison’s menu celebrates seasonal ingredients sourced from Texas and beyond, with dishes kissed by smoke and flame that showcase both creativity and craftsmanship. As much as I love their Wagyu tender, I have to spill the tea on my favorite dish. I’ve tried scallops all over the country, and every time I do, I say, “Nope, not for me.” Until now. The scallops at Garrison are a dream.

I also tried the oysters, caviar and red snapper. Let’s not forget the Garrison tots! Oh, and the chocolate soufflé? Perfection.
