Jennifer McGill

You may not know her name, but you surely know some of her former co-stars. Jennifer McGill shared stage and screen with Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Ryan Gosling and other familiar faces.

And she’s been using her voice just as much in the years since, just in a different capacity. Not only is she a singer, McGill is a writer, worship leader, speaker and coach. The latter is what brings her to Austin.

McGill debuts as Performance Coach for PCG Universal’s first 2018 event.

PCG is an innovative artist development company dedicated to addressing the unique needs of the recording artist. On Saturday, they’re hosting NEXTAustin, a one day artist event that includes private auditions, panel Q&A and a vocal recording technique workshop.

McGill will take part in a music industry panel, also featuring Bernard Porter, Molly Porter, Chad Gentry, Jennifer McGill, Laurie Winckel and Matt Noveskey.

Born in Denison, Texas, Jennifer McGill started singing at 2-years-old and won the Miss Texas Pageant at the age of 7.

Three years later, she was cast as a “mousketeer” on the All New Mickey Mouse Club. She went on to graduate from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.

By age 30, her website bio states:

I had more than arrived at a place of exasperation as the zillionth person asked me, “Why aren’t YOU famous?”

She goes on to say, “I opened my heart to Jesus.” She prayed for a job where she could sing, glorify and be closer to God. Soon, she was serving as worship leader and music coordinator for a church in Florida as well as a dramatic and musical minister at Trinity Broadcast Network’s The Holy Land Experience.

In the years since, she has made appearances on multiple TV shows, performed in various venues around the country, and even collaborated with anointed worship artists including Donnie McClurken, Martha Munizzi, Carman and Michael W. Smith.

Currently living in Nashville, she serves as a vocal producer, coach and writer. And amidst all of her roles, she still finds time to write and perform her own songs. Her solo album Unbreakable is available now.

Now for a little Flashback Friday fun. Here’s Jennifer performing with the gang on MMC.

Do you recognize JC from N’Sync, because that’s totally him!

And, just because I can’t resist, here’s Britney and Justin performing together on the show.

Fellow mousketeer Ryan Gosling has spent plenty of time in the ATX. He was spotted at numerous festivals while filming the Terrence Malick film Song to Song, which premiered at SXSW 2017. Timberlake popped up at SXSW in 2013 and performed at the F1 race in 2017. Spears came to town for The X Factor auditions in 2012. Perhaps it’s time for Aguilera to make an appearance? SXSW 2018, perhaps?!
