Austinite Jensen Ackles took home a Critics Choice Super Award over the weekend. The Supernatural star won in the category of “Best Actor in a Horror Series.”

Supernatural, however, did not take home the award for best horror series. That title went to HBO’s Lovecraft Country. Jurnee Smollett was awarded best actress in that category.

Smollett also has ties to Austin. She started as Jess Merriweather in seasons 4 and 5 of Friday Night Lights.
