Did you know that Zachary Levi lives just outside of Austin in Bastrop, Texas? It’s true! You can learn more about that here. The Bastropian can currently be seen on the big screen in the film American Underdog.

American Underdog tells the inspirational true story of Kurt Warner, who went from a stock boy at a grocery store to a two-time NFL MVP, Super Bowl champion, and Hall of Fame quarterback.

As I said in my latest edition of Spilling the Sweet Tea, the film is super heart warming… and you gotta love a good sports movie! Seriously, sports flicks are the best. In fact, we once published a list of the top 10 sports movies of all time. Check it out!

But back to the THIS sports movie, American Underdog. The film focuses on Warner’s life before he made it in the NFL – a life I knew very little about. Levi does a wonderful job illustrating the struggles and truly making you root for the underdog.

The film also stars Anna Paquin as Warner’s wife Brenda, as well as Texans Bruce McGill and Dennis Quaid. It has an audience score of 98% on Rotten Tomatoes.
