Aladdin

When I first saw that Aladdin was coming to the big screen I had mixed emotions. Hands down this is my FAVORITE childhood Disney movie, so part of me was ecstatic, and the other part of me was like “please don’t ruin this for me.” Well let me tell you, it did not disappoint.

Guy Richie and the entire Disney team have created a vibrant, theatrical version of a childhood favorite.

The creative liberties taken were subtle and well placed. Nothing went crazy off script from the original and over all, the additions fit well with the level of visual effects offered today versus 1992.

Okay, but the the seriously good part? The dancing. The singing. The outfits. And, of course, Will Smith! On point with the rest of the movie, Smith’s version of the genie has its own flare while he tips his hat to the OG Robin Williams.

Aladdin star Mena Massoud at the SXSW 2019 premiere party for Run This Town at the A-List Communications Supper Suite.

But don’t take my word for it. Go see this movie at the theater!

Aladdin officially opens in theaters nationwide on Friday, May 24.
