Emily Robison and Martie Maguire played the KGSR live music lounge as duo The Court Yard Hounds. You may better know the gals from their other band The Dixie Chicks (with Natalie Maines), though this sound is distinctively more folk than country.

When asked if their songs were written with the Chicks in mind, Emily said she was just writing for the sake of writing. After two years of sending songs to Natalie she realized the front woman really did want a break. I guess she used to be raising Cain, now she’s raising babies( take a listen to “Fear of Wasted Time” to get the reference). And so, The Court Yard Hounds began.
