Team JOTA

When The Lone Star Le Mans took over the track at Circuit of the Americas, one team really put fans in the driver’s seat. Hertz debuted its Gold Kart Series where Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA drivers lead fan teams competing in the first-ever three-hour amateur endurance karting race!

The Gold Kart Series race put fans behind to wheel to compete on teams led by F1 World Champion, Jenson Button and his co-drivers Alex Lynn and Norman Nato with co-captain Tom Brady ( a virtual coach). After the race, Hertz opened the track to the public for free driving time!

Winners of the endurance karting race were treated to a garage tour with Team JOTA and we were there! We also got to hang out during qualifying – though things didn’t exactly go as the team planned.

After a historic 1-2 finish at São Paulo, the team missed qualifying at COTA. They did, however, end up finishing sixth and eighth after a rainy and dramatic race. The team now stands at third in the Manufacturer’s Championship, behind first place Ferrari and second place Porsche.

Thanks to Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA for making me feel so at home at the WEC Lone Star Le Mans! Here’s a peek at what it was like to be part of the action:
