The 2024 Formula 1 season hasn’t quite been a rollercoaster ride but there have been some adrenaline-pumping moments. As the season continues we will add more of the best moments to this list so bookmark this page. And be sure to share your favorite moments with us on Instagram.
Here are the best moments of the 2024 F1 season so far!
Bahrain Grand Prix
If you are a Max Verstappen fan, then you were probably pretty psyched to see him start the season strong by taking the victory in the season opener in Bahrain.
Personally, I was more entertained by Charles Leclerc and George Russell battling for 4th and 5th throughout the race.
But the cutest moment was when the cameras caught Kevin Magnussen’s daughter Laura dancing in the pits before the race.
Saudi Arabia Grand Prix
Max wins again with Checo finishing second. But the highlight was definitely Ferrari stand-in Oliver Bearman in his debut Grand Prix finishing P7 with six points.
Australian Grand Prix
Verstappen’s rear brake got stuck open just after the beginning of the race causing his car to lose performance and eventually catch fire. I’m glad he wasn’t hurt but I was overjoyed to see another driver take the top podium. And that driver was Carlos Sainz, fresh off his medical break for appendicitis. Leclerc made it a one-two finish for Ferrari, while Lando Norris rounded out the podium in third.
Japan Grand Prix
It’s lights out and back to normal. Max takes the checkered flag ahead of Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez. Carlos Sainz takes third.
Chinese Grand Prix
A momentary highlight for non Max fans – Hamilton lead the sprint for almost eight laps! Those brief moments took me back to 2021, albeit briefly. At least we got to see Hamilton on a podium again (well, kind of).
In regards to the main race, things could’ve gotten really interesting with two yellow flags. However, the race ended with both Red Bull drivers on the podium, split by Lando in second.
Miami Grand Prix
Lando Norris’s first ever Grand Prix win eclipsed anything and everything else at F1 weekend in Miami.
Imola Grand Prix
McLaren proves once again that their car is better than ever. Lando really gave Max a run for his money finishing less than two seconds behind the champ.
And though Ferrari didn’t take the win at home, fans at least got to see Charles Leclerc on the podium in third.
Monaco Grand Prix
Speaking of Leclerc, fans of the Ferrari driver got the moment they’ve been waiting for when he took top honors as the first Monegasque to win the Monaco Grand Prix.
Canadian Grand Prix
Qualifying saw George Russell take the poll for the first time ever, striking that infamous T pose as he climbed out of the car. He was not able, however, to hold off Max on race day. The English man ended up finishing third behind Max and fellow countryman Lando Norris.
Spanish GP
Though Lando Norris took poll, it was George Russell who took the lead in the first lap. He couldn’t keep it though and Max Verstappen took the checkered flag again, followed closely by Norris.
Austrian GP
What a race! In lap 63, tensions between Norris and Verstappen came to a head when they collided and took each other out of the race. This cleared the path for a completely new podium giving George Russell the opportunity to strike that T post once again! Piastri took second while Sainz finished third.
British Grand Prix
Talk about a storybook ending! After two and a half years without a win, Lewis Hamilton took the checkered flag at his home race at Silverstone. The win brought him to tears and he was not alone. Happy tears were flowing all around. And how about that national anthem performance from Hannah Waddingham before the race?
Hungarian Grand Prix
Oh, what fun this weekend was! It’s always exciting to see a driver win their first grand prix, especially when that driver is the youngest on the track. The most controversial highlight came after pitting when McLaren asked Lando Norris to slow down so teammate Piastri could reclaim the lead. Teamwork makes the dream work, even when it’s a tough pill to swallow.
Belgian Grand Prix
The Red Bull team continued to lag but it was George Russell that was really feeling the pain at the Belgian GP. After being disqualified following a stewards investigation into his car’s weight, Lewis Hamilton was promoted to first for his second victory of the season.
Dutch Grand Prix
Lando Norris started in pole position but lost the lead immediately to local favorite Max Verstappen. However, patience paid off as he finally passed his competitor in Lap 18, ultimately finishing about 20 seconds ahead of the points leader. Though the majority of the crowd was sporting orange, only a sliver was dressed in papaya but they were the ones celebrating in the end. Verstappen’s lead is now just 70 points with nine races to go.
Italian Grand Prix
Ferrari’s one stop strategy paid off and got Leclerc the top spot on the podium at their home race in Monza. The Mclaren boys took second and third.
Meanwhile, the Lone Star Le Mans was happening in Austin. Here are the celebrities we spotted out at COTA.
Azerbaijan Grand Prix
Piastri took his second win of the season after holding off Leclerc running less than a second behind him for the majority of the race. But the biggest highlight of Baku was when Perez and Sainz collided on the penultimate lap, leading to the race concluding under the Virtual Safety Car.
Singapore Grand Prix
Norris and his McLaren were uncatchable, finishing a whopping 20 seconds ahead of championship rival Verstappen and teammate Piastri. Fastest lap went to Daniel Ricciardo in his final race as an F1 driver.
US Grand Prix
This was my fourth time attending the USGP in Austin and fist time seeing someone take the top spot on the podium besides Verstappen! Ferrari took one and two with Leclerc finishing on top. Max did, however, finish first in the sprint race.

Mexico Grand Prix
The Red Bull shut out continued this week with Sainz dominating in Mexico City and Norris splitting the Ferraris. Some of the best moments of the race featured Verstappen and Norris fighting for places at Turn 4 and Turn 8 on Lap 10. The Red Bull driver got hit with a pair of 10-second time penalties for forcing the McLaren driver off the track.
Brazil Grand Prix
Verstappen was back on top in Brazil after an epic wet race win. He started the race in P17! A highlight just was big came in the form of a double podium for Alpine. Ocon and Gasly finished second and third in a huge win for the team, jumping from ninth to sixth in the constructors’ standings.
Las Vegas Grand Prix
Russell clinched his third career win, leading teammate Hamilton for a Mercedes one-two finish. But all eyes were on the battle for the championship. Norris needed to outscore Verstappen by three points to keep his title hopes alive. Sadly for him, that did not happen and Max was crowned a four-time Formula 1 world champion!
Qatar Grand Prix
The battle for the constructors’ championship continued in Qatar. With a penalty keeping Norris at the bottom of the points scorers, McLaren and Ferrari live to battle it out in the final race of the season. As for the podium, Verstappen was once again victorious with Leclerc and Piastri joining him in second and third.
Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
It all comes down to Abu Dhabi in regards to the Constructors’ Cup champ. We’re Ferrari fans over here so we’d love to see them take the title. But we’re okay with McLaren as well. Anyone but Red Bull is our mantra.
