Meow Wolf is opening a pair of new immersive-entertainment installations over the next two years and it’s happening right here in Texas! In addition to locations in Santa Fe, Las Vegas and Denver, the infamous art space announced that they are opening portals in Dallas (Grapevine actually) and Houston. The installations will open in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
“The Meow Wolf story universe is expanding, and Texas holds the keys to our next chapters,” said Jose Tolosa, CEO of Meow Wolf, in a press statement. “Opening a permanent exhibition in the largest and one of the most diverse states in the country has been on Meow Wolf’s radar for years, and we are excited to be formally underway.”
The DFW area exhibition will be located in Grapevine Mills. According to the press statement. “An exact name for the exhibition will be announced at a later date.”
The Houston exhibition will be located in the Fifth Ward.
Meow Wolf may have discreetly teased the expansion at their SXSW 2022 pop-up. A Spill the aTx staffer snapped this picture while checking out the special exhibit in Austin, Texas.
Santa Fe
The original location in Santa Fe is called “The House of Eternal Return.” It is described as a mind-bending, explorable art experience for people of all ages in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Featuring over 70 rooms of immersive art, the exhibit takes participants on a macrocosmic adventure of seemingly endless possibilities. Here are a few pictures snapped by Spill the aTx staffers and friends.
Las Vegas
In Vegas, the Meow Wolf exhibit is called “Omega Mart.” At this locale, customers/ guests can discover secret portals or simply soak up the innovative art as they venture beyond an interactive supermarket into parts unknown. They say you have no idea what’s in-store for you, but you can get a little bit of an idea by watching this video:
Denver
The most recent addition to the Meow Wolf family is a portal located in Denver. We have not checked “Convergence Station” as of yet. But, we will be there soon! The Spill the aTx team is headed to Denver later this month. Keep an eye on our Instagram and TikTok channels to see what that experience is like.
