Red Bull just flew their F1 car over Austin. Yes, they really did! Days before the US Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas, Red Bull Racing orchestrated a dramatic unveiling of their new Formula 1 car livery.

The livery, named “The Lonestar,” was the result of the “Make Your Mark” contest, which invited fans to design the car’s exterior for the U.S. Grand Prix. Out of approximately 2,000 submissions, Argentine graphic designer Franco Cavallone’s design was selected. His creation features red, white, and blue lines inspired by the Circuit of the Americas track, along with stars reflecting the Texas state flag. Cavallone was flown to Austin for the event, where he witnessed his design adorning the car as it was delivered by helicopter to Oracle’s headquarters.

The event also included appearances by Red Bull Racing drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez as well as Team Principal Christian Horner. Reserve driver, and Austin fave, Daniel Ricciardo was also part of the event. Attendees enjoyed plenty of Red Bull themed drinks and various activities like racing simulators and swag giveaways including a custom hat-painting bar with artist Saiff Vasarhelyi.

This spectacle not only showcased Red Bull Racing’s innovative approach to fan engagement but also highlighted the vibrant culture of Austin. After all, when you mix the excitement of Formula 1 race weekend with local Texan flair, you’re sure to take the checkered flag.
