Questlove Shows Love For Austin Despite SXSW Cancellation

Roots frontman Questlove is no stranger to SXSW. After years of playing both the festival and other ATX events, he, like most of us, was shocked and heartbroken about the news that the fest was canceled.

He took to twitter to post his feelings about it late last week.

I’m sure many thought it was a kind gesture but also thought there was no way he would come to Austin after so many had canceled.
Think again! On Monday, it was announced that Questlove is in fact coming to play a show in Austin. He will be playing the Music Tech Mashup at Empire Garage, March 14.

We’re glad to see that Questlove is not only a man of his word but a man who’s willing to show up for a city and support so many in need. Get tickets here.

The cancellation is impacting multiple industries in and out of Austin. So make sure you spend some time out both this coming weekend and the next. Tip your bartenders and servers a little extra. Maybe even #tipfortwo as so many have been suggesting.
