The streaming series Grace and Frankie may have ended its run in April of 2022 but the show lives forever on Netflix. Thank goodness for that because the adventures of this unconventional duo never fail to make us laugh. While binging it for the fourth time, I found myself wondering where the real life Grace and Frankie filming locations are, so, I put together this list.
The Beach House From Grace and Frankie
The Beach House
Location: 31212 Broad Beach Road, Malibu, CA
While the beach house is set in San Diego’s La Jolla area, the real beach house is located in Malibu’s Broad Beach. The outside scenes filmed here but scenes inside the beach house filmed at Paramount Studios. Book a tour here!
Many any other scenes were filmed round the Paramount lot as well. Like when the gays protest the best bagels in town that are baked by a bigot. That’s the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf on at Paramount Studios.
We have been able to locate a few other off lot filming locations though.
More Grace and Frankie Filming Locations
- Malibu Beach is used for many scenes, like the ones when Bud and Allison were married and Frankie’s “funeral” in the final season.
- In season 7 episode with Grace and Frankie as the “Bandita Banditas,” the Mexican restaurant is Las Flautas on E. Cesar Chavez Blvd. in East Los Angeles.
- The church Grace went into season 2, episode 9 is St. Brendan Catholic Church on 3rd St. in LA.
- Some scenes of the retirement community were shot at Kingsley Manor Retirement Community.
- The front of the jail that Nick is in is actually the Shasta county jail in Redding, CA.
- In the finale, the hotel Sol and Robert are at is The Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Downtown LA. Fun fact: it was also used in Ghostbusters.
We’re constantly on the look out for filming locations. As we discover more, we will add to the list. If you know of a location we missed, send us a DM on Instagram!
