Daniel Day-Lewis plays a respectable member of New York’s high society who is looking forward to his marriage to Winona Ryder. That is, until Ryder’s cousin, played by Michelle Pfeiffer, shows up. The source material may not be typical Scorsese, but the breathtaking attention to detail and awe-inspiring talent on display certainly is.
