Bones made the announcement via Instagram and Facebook and, reportedly, spoke about it on his syndicated radio show this morning. Also a musician and comedian, Bones stated that he will be working directly with the top 24 contestants to share his expertise and advice on all areas of being an artist, which will include covering stage presence, dealing with media, posting on social media, remaining focused and being authentic and original.
“It’s very exciting for me. I’m nervous that I’m not going to give good advice. I can’t say a lot about what i’m doing but i’ll be working with the Top 24 contestants,” he said, as posted on the Bobby Bones Show website.
Bobby Bones has hinted at transitioning into television for years now and even auditioned to be Kelly Ripa’s co-host on Live. He has also appeared multiple times on the TV series Nashville.
As you are most likely aware, American Idol originally aired on FOX and ended its 15-season run on the network in 2016. The ABC re-boot premieres March 11, with Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan as the new judges.
