When the “This Is Important” gang made a tour stop in Austin, we were there, ready to spill the ATX on all the best moments from the show!
On the “This Is Important” podcast, Adam Devine, Anders Holm, Blake Anderson and Kyle Newacheck seriously discuss some very important topics. Seriously. Occasionally, they do it live on stage in front of an audience, as they did Sunday night in Austin.
Their current tour is actually taking them to multiple cities around the country. If you’re a fan and you missed the Austin show, don’t worry, they’ll be back in Texas later this month. The tour stops in San Antonio on November 30 and Sugarland on December 1.
But back to Austin. We always love when anyone recaps where they went and what they did while in the ATX. Here’s everything the gang mentioned about Austin while on stage at Bass Concert Hall on the University of Texas campus.
The Best Moments From This Is Important Tour Stop in Austin
- Before they got started, the foursome threw Buzzballz into the crowd. Did you know they were created in the mid-2000s by a then-high school Plano, Texas teacher in who was sitting by her pool grading papers when she had a hankering for an alcoholic beverage? Now that’s pretty darn bad ass.
- The guys mentioned they tried out Waco Surf. Not exactly Austin but close enough to count.
- Joking about what sport is most popular at UT, Anders Holm successfully named six swimmers who graduated from the university. Apparently, he swam at Wisconsin (which was mentioned numerous times throughout the show).
- The gang dined at Jeffreys the evening prior, which Devine called, “Hella fancy!”
- Devine also talked about his favorite Austin bar which he has visited during his last three visits to the ATX: White Horse.
- Following the stop at White Horse, the guys hit up Yellow Jacket Social Club where they said, “The bartenders were mad cool.”
- Prior to the Workaholics premiere, the gang appeared at an event at SXSW. It took place at the old Emo’s on Sixth Street. Another year, they hosted a party on Rainey Street.
While we love all the Austin mentions (they also had BBQ before the show but failed to mention where), the best part of the night was a performance by The Wizards! In case you aren’t a fan of Workaholics, The Wizards was their fictional rap group. You can watch a clip from the performance below.
