On the red carpet at Austin Film Fest, we spoke with the cast and crew of the dark comedy Forelock.

About Forelock

First off, here’s a bit about the opening night marquee film.

Forelock Synopsis: A naive fitness enthusiast moves to LA with dreams of becoming a trainer, but collides with a crooked Hollywood Boulevard impersonator in a tragicomic romp through the shadows of the American dream.

Talking Texas With the Cast of Forelock

Many cast members were fortunate to have spent time in the city before, including Actor and Executive Producer David Krumholtz.

When asked how to feels to be screening in Austin, Krumholtz said, “Austin is one of the greatest cities in the country so it’s a no brainer. When you’re invited here, you run.”

Director/ Writer and Star Caleb Alexander Smith has never been to Austin but looks forward to spending a few days in the city following the festival appearance. “I like what I see so far, “he said, “It’s a lot of fun, maybe a little bit too hot.” When I replied that the weather actually feels pretty good (read: mild) right now, he shrugged as if he clearly did not agree.

As for how it feels to be part of AFF, he replied, “Austin (Film Fest) is known as a writer’s festival and a storyteller’s conference. As someone who worked on the script for years and years, I really appreciate that that aspect is put to the forefront.”
