When Teddi Mellencamp walked the red carpet at the ATX TV Festival, we chatted with her about all things Texas. That’s how we found out that she and Matthew McConaughey go way back.

Here’s the tea on how Teddi Mellencamp met Matthew McConaughey!

When we asked the former cast member of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills to choose between Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey, she chose McConaughey. Because apparently, she starred in a music video with him! And that’s not all. “I ate calamari for the first time because of Matthew McConaughey,” she exclaimed.

The music video was for one of her father’s songs. Of course, we had to find it. Here’s the video for John Mellencamp’s song ‘I Saw You First.”

Gotta love that McConaughey does a bit of his classic chicken dance in the video. Released in 1996, this video came before we saw him do more of that particular dance in EDtv.

I assume Teddi is one of the teenage girls we see at about 4:16 into the video.

Teddi was at the TV festival to take part in a panel on podcasting. She and fellow ex-housewife Tamra Judge host the “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast.
