Keep Austin weird and relaxed? Meow Wolf co-founder, Corvas Brinkerhoff is bringing an immersive spa concept to Austin. Brinkerhoff has stepped away from Meow Wolf to work on this new concept which will be called, Submersive and ATX will be the first location! It’s also the only locale planned for the near future, with the first half of the spa to be completed in 2026 while the second half will open in 2028.
Here’s everything we know about Submersive so far.
Submersive will be a 25,000 square-foot spa with 12 rooms centered around a main gathering space. The concept is that visitors will be able to choose how they proceed from one space to the next. Almost like a choose your own adventure but in spa form. Each of the 12 spas will have its own unique look, sound and feel. They will even use an AI quiz to give you an ideal route based on your preferences and state of mind. You can expect video projection, immersive art, steam and lasers.
Brinkerhoff is hoping to bring bathhouse culture to that U.S. starting with Austin, but hoping to follow in the footsteps of Meow Wolf by creating different themed Submersive spas all over. Their goal for the Austin spa is to bring in over 200,000 visitors a year.
