Common Ground

The American food system is broken. If you aren’t aware of that, it’s time to start doing your research. And you can start by watching a film like Common Ground.

The documentary features a cast of well known and vocal celebrities telling the sweeping and uplifting story of the pioneers of the ‘Regenerative Movement.’ The featured farmers and activists are creating a new food system that produces nutritionally dense food while balancing the climate, healing our bodies and bringing our entire ecosystem back to life.

The groundbreaking film premiered in Austin on October 4, in partnership with the local non-profit Kiss The Ground. Adrian Grenier and Ian Somerhalder were in attendance while Woody Harrelson shot a special video just for Austinites that aired before the film. Other celebrities who take part in the doc include Laura Dern, Jason Momoa, Rosaria Dawson and Donald Glover.

The film screened at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year, where it won the 2023 Human/Nature Award.

Though it isn’t currently slated for another airing in Austin, we’re hoping Common Ground will be available on a streaming service in 2024. When that happens, we’ll be sure to tell you about it!

Following the premiere, an after party took place at Hopdoddy on South Congress. Hopdoddy is a proud sponsor of the film and a partner with Force of Nature. In fact, the brand has just announced that they will be fully incorporating Force of Nature’s regenerative meats into their menus across the country. At the after party event, food was served featuring Force of Nature Meats and Vital Farms. Guests also sipped on Common Ground Cocktails, featuring Brother’s Bond Bourbon, which was created by Ian Somerhalder and his The Vampire Diaries co-star Paul Wesley. The duo is otherwise known as “The Salvatore Brothers.”
