Just for fun, let’s make a list of all the celebrities who have been spotted at ACL in the past…and then speculate on who could be caught there this year.

PAST:

Sandra Bullock was spotted at the Mishka stage last year rocking out with her sis.

I assume Matthew McConaughey has attended numerous times through the years… and since we know he’s in town for Linklater’s film “Bernie,” there’s a pretty good chance he’ll just keep livin’ at the fest. Earlier today @dailyjuice tweeted that he “does not tip well. Or at all sometimes. Like today.” #fail

Bill Murray was spotted last year, I believe, cruising around the grounds on a golf cart. Perhaps it was the year before? It seems last year he’d have needed a pontoon.

Drew Barrymore and Justin Long were both seen two years ago while she was in town to scout shooting location for “Whip It,” which ultimately was filmed in Michigan (though a select few scenes were shot in Austin).

Laura Dern was seen at the side stage during hubby Ben Harper‘s session last year. And though I’ve had no direct reports, I would guess that her ex Billy Bob Thornton has attended in the past. 

This one’s a no brainer; Austinites Andy Roddick and Lance Armstrong have gotten their fest on in years past. I’m sure a majority of the “Friday Night Lights” cast has attended though personally, I’ve crossed paths with Taylor Kitsch and Connie Britton.

Woody Harrelson, Jake Gyllenhall, Edward Furlong and Chuck Woolery are a few of the other celebs I’ve received a heads up on via Twitter and Facebook. 

Finally, I have no verification of this, but I have to assume Luke Wilson has been since he once spent many a night out on the town in ATX.

PRESENT:

Since Sandra Bullock has been before and obviously resides here you have to wonder if she will brave the crowds and many cams to party on again. Jesse James is much more likely to attend than Sandy. Could Kat Von D be at his side?

I’m unsure if the the cast of “My Generation” is still around town, but if so, there’s a good chance you may see Jaime King, Michael Stahl-David, Kelli Garner, Julian Morris, Keir O’Donnell, Daniella Alonso, Anne Son, Sebastian Sozzi and Austinite Mehcad Brooks. Speaking of Mechad, we know his”True Blood” cast mate Todd Lowe frequents Austin. I’m unsure if he frequents ACL. 

If the “Lone Star” gang is still hanging around Dallas, perhaps they (Adrianne Palicki, James Wolk and Eloise Mumford) will make the quick trip down, especially considering Adrianne most likely attended while shooting “FNL.” More likely, creator Kyle Killen could be around. And based on the show’s ratings, he may be looking for any excuse to drink it up.  

“The Good Guys” also shoots in Dallas and star Colin Hanks has already been spotted in Austin this year so perhaps, perhaps, perhaps… 

Anyone from the cast of “Spy Kids 4” is a strong possibility. I’d love to spot Jessica Alba, though Daryl Sabara is more likely. Actually, is he even in this new edition?

You know Mr. Machete Danny Trejo is always around and Michelle Rodriguez can’t seem to get enough of Austin lately so a sighting wouldn’t surprise me.

Another actor caught all over Austin lately? Elijah Wood. First he was seen participating in  Fantastic Fest, but then last weekend a friend found Frodo out on East 6th. Does he have a place here now or what?

Doug Benson is around a lot as well, though I haven’t checked his touring schedule. So, like Joel McHale, he may have a gig elsewhere this weekend.

As previously mentioned, Matthew McConaughey has been cast along side Jack Black in “Bernie,” which shoots this month in the Austin area.

Chase Crawford was spotted in Austin with Taylor Kitsch earlier this year. Perhaps the two hotties will get together for another bromance this weekend?

Jeff Bridges filmed “True Grit” in the area as well as perform Ryan Bingham‘s songs in “Crazy Heart,” so it’d be pretty cool to see the Oscar winner jamming along at The Dead Horses set.

We know Rachael Ray loves SXSW but has she ever attended ACL? 

And finally, the two pipe dream people that were suggested to me on Twitter: Justin Timberlake and Brad Pitt. Be still my heart.
