From Roseanne to Heathers to El Rey’s new reality series Rebel Without a Crew, here are 10 more TV shows you can interact with at SXSW 2018.
Back in the Game
CNBC Chairman Mark Hoffman will moderate a discussion with former New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez about the highs and lows of his career. Rodriguez will also share how he mentors a new generation of athletes in his upcoming CNBC special Back in the Game in a Q&A on Monday, March 12, at 9:30am. This is a badge only event.
The one-hour special, executive produced by Michael Strahan, premieres Tuesday, March 13, at 9pm on CNBC.
Corporate Retreat
Comedy Central’s Corporate Retreat is celebrating the season one finale of their incisive take on cubicle life, with stand-up from creators Jake Weisman, Matt Ingebretson, Pat Bishop, along with co-stars Adam Lustick, Aparna Nancherla and Baron Vaughn. Guests will also get a sneak peak of the finale episode, “Remember Day.” This is an all badge event happening at Esther’s Follies on Saturday, March 10, at 10pm.
Cloak & Dagger
Freeform presents Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger with a world premiere watch party on March 11 (time and location details have not been released).
Following the premiere, series stars Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph along with executive producer and showrunner Joe Pokaski, director Gina Prince-Bythewood, and executive producer and Marvel’s Head of Television Jeph Loeb, will take the stage for a discussion about creating “Cloak” and “Dagger” – a pair of young adults navigating life’s issues of relationships, loss and race, and forming their own identities.
Cloak & Dagger premieres on June 7 at 7pm with a two-hour event on Freeform.
The Flash
Any fan of The Flash (Tuesdays at 7pm on The CW) will be familiar with CC Jitters, the go-to coffeehouse of the extended Arrow-verse. The shop will be serving up free coffee from Noon to 6pm daily at the DCXSXSW Pop-Up Shop and Experience at 717 Red River Street.
Gotham
Oswald’s, the bar and nightclub featured on Gotham (Thursdays at 7pm on FOX), is owned and operated by Oswald Cobblepot aka The Penguin. From 6 to 10pm. nightly, Oswald’s will be offering free beer tastings directly from local brewery Family Business Beer Company, which was recently opened by Supernatural star and Austin resident, Jensen Ackles! The DCXSXSW Pop-Up Shop and Experience is located at 717 Red River Street.
Heathers
Calling all Heathers fans—this Pitchfork day party is for you. The Paramount Network X Pitchfork Day Party takes place on Friday, March 16, at Barracuda. It’s free and open to the public. The party will promote Paramount Network’s new hour-long pitch-black comedy anthology series based on the cult film of the same name.They will also be celebrating the upcoming launches of American Woman, Yellowstone and the existing series Lip Sync Battle.
Heathers premieres Wednesday, March 7, at 9pm. on Paramount Network.
Krypton
Time to tap into your inner super hero! Warner Bros. Television Group and DC Entertainment are inviting fans into their SXSWXDC Super Hero lair with an epic pop culture experience for the duration of SXSW. The DC/WBTV bunker will not only feature the House of El’s otherworldly origin story with the upcoming SYFY drama Krypton (premiering March 21), but also Gotham City’s coolest wheels, with a display of Batman’s iconic onscreen Batmobiles and Bat-cycles and so much more (see The Arrow and Gotham info). Located just a few blocks from the Austin Convention Center, the DC/WBTV SXSW Experience can be found at 717 Red River Street. An official SXSW event, the DC Experience will be open to both SXSW badge holders and the public from Noon to 10pm daily for the duration of the Festival.
Rebel Without a Crew
El Rey Network’s Rebel Without a Crew series will make its world premiere at SXSW 2018. The series follows five up-and-coming filmmakers as they rise to the occasion of shooting a brand-new feature length film in two-weeks with only $7,000. The private screening event is happening on Monday, March 12.
Roseanne
The Ultimate Roseanne Experience is happening Saturday, March 10, through Monday, March 12, from 11am to 6pm at Volcom Garden, located at 1209 East 6th Street. You can dine at the Lanford Lunch Box, create an animated GIF straight from the iconic couch, grab a classic quote shirt or screen-print a custom needlepoint-inspired tote to take home as a souvenir and even meet and greet with cast members original and new.
Roseanne returns to ABC on Tuesday, March 27, at 7pm.
The Terror
To kick-off the launch of AMC’s new haunting drama The Terror, the network is inviting everyone to enter the Arctic as the real-life crew of this ill-fated expedition did in 1845. The fully immersive, multi-sensory experience offers guests a first-hand look as a crew member aboard the ship’s disastrous trip through the desolate polar landscape. Feel the bone-chilling air, smell the fear and despair and hear the horrific sounds of men fighting for their survival. The experience is happening March 10 and 11 from 11am to 11pm at 300 Colorado Street lot.
The Terror launches on AMC with a two-hour series premiere on Monday, March 26, at 9pm.
