Ahead of its Fantastic Fest opening night screening on September 20, Halloween premiered at the Toronto International Film Fest with Jamie Lee Curtis in attendance.
Curtis, seen here speaking to ET, returns to her role as Laurie Strode. In the film, Strode takes on one final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
Of all the reviews we read (mostly positive, btw) from the fest, this one painted the most intriguing picture.
HALLOWEEN is THE FORCE AWAKENS of HALLOWEEN movies: all the stuff you want, plus some new stuff, some dumb stuff, some delightfully remixed stuff. definitely the best time I’ve had at a #TIFF18 screening thus far

Not only does Jamie Lee Curtis reprise her iconic role, this newest installation of the franchise was created by David Gordon Green and Danny McBride. McBride will also walk the red carpet for the opening night screening.
Both Curtis and McBride joked on the red carpet of the Midnight TIFF screening that it was way past their bedtime. While the official time has yet to be announced for Fantastic Fest, Halloween is the opening night film so we’re confident the screening will be happening earlier in the evening here in Austin.
Jamie Lee Curtis isn’t the only celeb confirmed to attend the fest.
Seann William Scott will appear with the film Bloodline.
Overlord screens with cast members Pilou Asbaek, John Magaro and Wyatt Russell in attendance.
Jonah Hill will attend in support of his directorial debut with the film MID90S.
Plus, these are the celebrities who star in other films screening at the fest:
Riley Keough in Hold the Dark.
Alexander Skaarsgard in Hold the Dark.
Dan Stevens in Apostle.
Jeffrey Wright in Hold the Dark.
Perhaps the crew at Fantastic Fest will add some of these names to the official appearance list as well.
In addition to all that, Elijah Wood serves as a FF Advisory Board members and has taken part in the fest multiple times. So, here’s hoping we spot him around Austin as well.
