It’s Garth Brooks’ 60th birthday! In honor of the occasion, we’re flashing back on Garth’s top three moments in the ATX.
Garth Brook Top 3 Moments in Austin!
First off, let’s start with that FREE concert he put on at Auditorium Shores in 2017. Austin residents from select zip codes only were eligible for free tickets to the outdoor SXSW show. Garth also gave a keynote address at the music conference that year.
The night before, the crowd at Broken Spoke was shocked when the country superstar popped up on stage for an impromptu concert. Garth posted this epic pic on his Twitter account following that appearance.
Perhaps it was that evening that sparked the idea for the Dive Bar Tour he launched in 2019. In September of that year, Garth performed in Gruene where fans filled the streets just to hear the music waft out of Gruene Hall. We realize this is technically outside of Austin but since so many Austinites were in attendance that night, we’re counting it!
