As if SXSW wasn’t exhausting enough, I decided I needed to wear myself out even more. So I booked a trip to live that LA life for a few days.
And what a few days it was.
My first celeb sight of the trip was at the Beverly Center. As I was venturing down the escalator having purchased a Hobo bag for just $25 (man, can I shop) I spied Doris Roberts riding up the escalator next to me. She looks exactly as you’d think and I half expected Peter Boyle to begrudgingly lumber up behind her. Tear.
It was on to the Grove where I spotted Rod’s son Sean Stewart near the lawn as hundreds were lining up to catch a sneak peek of Glee.
Day one was capped off with a trip to The Roger Room where Solange Knowles appeared to be celebrating her birthday or something kinda like it. Either that or she was wearing some odd head piece just to make sure people notice her. It’s Hollywood. You never know.
The next day I spotted Kathy Griffin. As you may have seen on TMZ, the Life on the D-list star was taping an episode of her show at the Melrose Trading Post.
On my last day in LA, I toured the Warner Brothers lot (which I highly recommend) and then swung by the TMZ studios.
It was much fun, especially since I got to meet the whole TMZ gang (sans Harvey who was in the midst of breaking news).
Dax is my fave… and since he does the talk backs every Tuesday morning with FOX 7’s Katherine Kisiel on “Good Day Austin,” I decided we needed a pic.
When I tweeted it to him the following day, he replied. Love that!
Before heading the the airport, I had an hour or so to kill so I zipped over to Robertson where I saw a lone paprazzo just waiting for someone/ anyone to turn up.
What did turn up was this Sandra Bullock themed window at Kitson. Poor Sandy.
All seemed dead to me as I stepped into Intermix. But then, standing directly in front of me, was Ru Paul.
Ru Paul on Roberton? It doesn’t get much better than that.
And now I’m back in Austin ready to smoke out the Coen Brothers “True Grit” cast.
Stay tuned for that.
XOXO
