Exes Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux reunited for the most heartbreaking reason this weekend; the death of their beloved white shepard, Dolly. On Sunday, Justin posted a series of pictures of the beautiful canine on Instagram. The series starts with her in all her glory, followed by pictures of her outdoor burial ceremony.
Dolly was covered in flowers and buried in a cozy blanket while surrounded by friends and family. In the fourth photo we see what we assume is Justin and Jen holding hands, mourning the loss of their four legged child.
Justin posted a eulogy along with the pictures with this quote from George Vest:
“The one that never deserts, the one that never proves ungrateful…is the dog—faithful and true, even in death.”

It’s no secret that Justin and Jennifer are dog lovers. Just ask Austin Pets Alive! Justin first got involved with the organization when he was filming The Leftovers in Austin in 2016. They were even the reason behind Justin’s latest adoption, Kumo. The pit bull was rescued after getting misplaced during Hurricane Harvey and Justin drove down to Houston to pick up himself.
Justin even has a highlighted story of APA! on his Instagram account!
Jen and Justin have always considered their pets to be their children, so much so that after their divorce in 2018 Jennifer and Justin decided to share custody of their four dogs: Clyde, Sophie, Kumo, and Dolly. Jennifer kept Clyde, Sophie and Dolly with her in Los Angeles while Justin kept Kumo with him in New York. They both had visitation rights. So it’s no surprise that they would reunite to say goodbye to one of their fur babies.
The Dumplin star adopted the white shepherd long before she met Theroux. She named her pup after Dolly Parton, who was made aware of her four legged namesake years before Dumplin was even in the works. Jennifer assumed that she had insulted Dolly by naming her dog after her. However, during the filming of Dumplin, the two Dollys met each other and we don’t think Ms. Parton was in any way insulted after meeting the sweet faced pup.
Along side her owner, the dog Dolly was followed by paparazzi over the years, starting from when she was a few months old. Dolly has even been in advertisements with Jennifer. Many of Dolly’s famous human friends even commented on Justin’s post with their condolences along with many complete strangers sending their well wishes to the couple.
