In anticipation of her trip to Austin for Moontower Comedy Festival, we spoke with comedian Margaret Cho about all things Texas. That includes, of course, taking our Texas This or That quiz.

Margaret Cho Takes Our Texas This or That Quiz

Tacos or Barbecue?

“Tacos.”

Queso or Guac?

“Guac.”

Friday Night Lights TV Show or Movie?

“Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose…I mean, I think always the TV show. I’m always very committed to the TV show.”

Dallas TV Show or Walker Texas Ranger?

“Dallas.”

Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Best Little Whorehouse in Texas?

“I do love Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It’s actually a really great film and an amazing franchise.”

Lizzo or Beyonce?

“Beyonce always. I love Lizzo too… They’re just very different but Beyonce is an institution. Beyonce is more than music, more than pop. It’s really a movement, a religion almost. It’s everything.”

George Strait or Willie Nelson?

“Willie Nelson. But I love George Strait too! I love that old country but I love Willie Nelson.”

Matthew McConaughey or Woody Harrelson?

“I feel like they’re related. They could be related. I love them both for different reasons. But also, the same reasons. I want both.”

Since Cho professed her love for Beyonce, we couldn’t miss the chance to ask if she’s excited for the upcoming country album. “I’m enthusiastic. I mean, I love everything she does. I’m really into the aesthetic and the look and I love country music. So, she’s going to be amazing,” Cho gushed.

Here’s a little bit about Cho’s new tour Live and LIVID:

Live and LIVID is a show celebrating Cho’s 40 years as a stand up comedian. She will be radiating rage about homophobia, sexism, racism and the fight to stay alive in a culture that is killing us daily.

“I’ve cycled through many names to get to Live and Livid. Absolutely Angry, Bitch and Bitchy, Count on this C***,  but Live & LIVID seems to have a ring to it.”
